FAQs

What are BBL + Moxi lasers? How do they work?
BroadBand Laser is a cutting-edge laser technology that delivers intense pulses of light into the skin. This light energy is absorbed by pigments (e.g., melanin or blood vessels), causing them to break down. Post-treatment, the body naturally clears these broken down pigments, revealing clearer, healthier-looking skin. It is best for those with: • Hyperpigmentation • Redness • Vascular lesions • Signs of aging • BBL is safe for most skin types Moxi is a non-ablative fractional laser technology. This creates controlled micro-injuries, which stimulates our natural healing processes, thereby promoting collagen production and fresh, healthy skin cells. This process improves skin texture and tone while addressing pigmentation and other concerns. It is best for those with: • Scarring • Enlarged pores • Uneven texture • Signs of aging • Moxi is safe for all skin types
What is the downtime? Can I go back to work afterwards?
Post BBL, expect some redness or slight swelling, which typically resolves within a few hours to days. Pigmentation may darken before dissipating. Post Moxi, expect skin to be pink or slightly rough with a “coffee grounds” appearance for several days. This texture will slough off to reveal smooth, fresh skin.
How many treatments do I need? When can I expect to see results?
A series of 3-6 initial treatments along with a maintenance regimen is recommended for optimal results.
Does it hurt?
For BBL, patients typically report little to no pain. For Moxi, the area is numbed with the strongest numbing agent available to minimize any pain.
Can I do BBL + Moxi treatments year round?
Yes! It is important to protect skin from the sun post treatment but you can certainly receive treatment year round.
Can I receive BBL + Moxi laser treatments while pregnant?
Women who are pregnant are not a candidate for BBL & Moxi. Visit us when you’re ready—we’d love to help with your postpartum skin journey.
What are the pre-treatment guidelines?
• Avoid direct sunlight. Skin should not be highly tanned prior to treatment. • Avoid self-tanners or spray tans. Skin must be free of artificial pigmentation for optimal results. • Stop retinol, AHAs, BHAs, and other exfoliating products one week before treatment. • Inform your provider if you have been on Accutane within the last 6 months. • Inform your provider of any medical conditions or medications that might increase light sensitivity, affect wound healing or affect coagulation.
What are the post-treatment guidelines?
• Avoid strong direct sun exposure for 14 days and apply SPF 30+ daily. Treated areas are more prone to sunburn and pigmentation change. • Avoid strenuous workouts for 24 hours post-treatment. • Cleanse skin twice a day with lukewarm water and a gentle cleanser. Do not rub, scrub or use an exfoliant. Darkened spots or rough texture will naturally flake off—let the healing process happen. • No saunas or intense heat for 14 days post-treatment. • Avoid retinoids, acids, and active skincare until skin is fully healed. • Redness and mild swelling are normal; use a cool compress or ice pack to soothe the skin if necessary.
